Yes its true. Today I did shoot a few photographs for the one and only 'Hello' magazine. Me and my salon were lucky enough to be featured with one of my gorgeous clients for an august edition of the magazine. When the issue comes out I will tell the world of course. And lets hope that you may see more then just my hands!!!!

A FISHY PEDICURE??????

A spa in Kensington is now offering a pedicure service where 150 fish nibble the dead skin off your feet. Crazy or Amazing??? Im really not sure.

And what if they are not hungry for my dead skin? I mean, it doesnt look very appetising to me, and I certainly dont think a fish would find it too delicious.

A GINGER A DAY KEEPS THE DOCTOR AWAY

Check out this amazeballs illustration of the best of Ginger celebrity that was brought to my attention by a friend of mine. She knew how much enjoyment it would bring to me, and for that I thank her unconditionally. It is the artwork of a London illustrator by the name of Ashley Le Quere. Its fantastic....

I especially love the Prince Harry and Lezlo illustration. I believe it really captures the heart of what they are all about. GORGEOUS. 

BUT my favourite is bottom right hand corner.. It says that it is Chris Evans, but c'mon. Lets face it, we all know who it really is.  The one, the only, SUPER GINGER Ross Jenkins. Love to you Ross.

ITS TIME TO DO SOMETHING DRAMATIC PEOPLE

With summer trying to make its way out of the clouds, as a Hair Specialist I prescribe you to march into that salon and have a complete change!

Its the perfect time to think about going for that 'CHOP' you have thought about for months, or even to change the hue of your locks. Having a change is the perfect way to celebrate a new beginning which is what the summer can feel like. Its also a great way to be rid of the old hair your hanging onto that is stressed and damaged. Its not doing you any favours!!!!

Like the old saying goes, a new look is as good as a holiday! So lets go on holiday with your hair people!!!

GO COCO BRONZE When die-hard blonde Fearne Cotton first decided to return to a more natural colour the jury was out as to whether she looked better blonde.  But having seen Fearne at the Glamour Woman of the Year awards (Congrats on your award Fearne!) I can honesstly say that she has found her perfect shade - a coco bronze with variolights underneath and towards the ends to lift the whole look.  So why is this look so perfect?.. It has the skin softening qualities of a blonde shade, but with all the gloss and shine you usually only see with a dark brunette.  If you look at her eyes you will see that they virtually pop out of her head - a good sign that it is a great colour.

When her hair was first taken back to her roots, the color was way too cool for her skin tone, although as you can see in the above picture, it now seems full of golden tone and shine. This suits her skin tone a lot more, so Im much more won over then I was initially.

If this is a color that you can feel might take you through the summer, it is a process that includes halo highlights underneath the main part area, then a super glossy bronze color applied to the remaining hair. You should try this with Avedas 99% naturally derived deposit only color in 7YO.

So for your summer, sunkissed do, step towards the bronze!! And do it now before the rest of the UK does!!!

MARGIELA ME UP BABY!!!!!!

MAISON MARTIN MARGIELA proper noun, plural, derived from the name of a Belgian stylist. 

I was treated to an explosion of creative genius yesterday at the Margiela 20years exhibition at Somerset House. I mean.... WOW. This stuff is powerful. 

This exhibition is a must see, as it is a chance to take a peek into the minds of the fashion house, and take a true understanding as to why they are motivated to create the fashion they do. 

I love the anonymity of the label, the use of white, the constructing, deconstructing, recovery, recycling, the anonymity of the models.... the list goes on and on. 

I know I have a favourite label now and vow to Margiela my life up. First step, purchase an oversized glitter snow globe from the gift shop, then find myself a pair of those sunnies! I want to be fashionably anonymous too!!!!

LETS GET SOME SHOES.....

COME, BEEN and GONE.......

Saturday night I was treated to a positively overwhelming dance spectacular at the Barbican Theatre. Come, Been and Gone is super choreographers Michael Clark's latest masterpiece that immerses you into a depth of contemporary dance, art and music. The performance begins with his work SWAMP which was choreographed in 1986, and followed by new works influenced by the music of David Bowie, Iggy Pop and Lou Reed. Even if your not a dance enthusiast, this production goes beyond the depths of simply telling a story. It is like watching a live performance of contemporary art, of which it is.

You must see it while its on.... ITS GOOOOOOOOOD.

Now being a slave to AVEDA I find it hard to think positively about other products, as it feels as if Im cheating. BUT it is good. It is very hydrating without being heavy. It leaves hair feeling nourished and gorgeous, unlike some disgusting silicone based serums on the market. Think of it as a vitamin for your hair that you use without thinking about.

Now excuse me while I go and smell some AVEDA shampure shampoo to get me back to where I need to be.

EDWARD SCISSORHANDS HOW I MISSED YOU....

On my return from a much needed holiday back to my roots of Melbourne, I was flicking through the movies on my flight and stumbled upon the Tim Burton classic Edward Scissorhands. And I thought, "this could be good.. sure beats AVATAR". And I must say, it was good 10 or 15 years ago, but it was even better now. As the hairdressing superstar I am, I especially connecting with his avantgarde haircuts on the housewives of the bright and colorful suburbs. It really made me reflect on the creative hairdressing industry of today, and it made me come to the conclusion that Edward was really ahead of his day. He is a Hairdressing Superstar!!!

You should definitely check the movie out again as it is pretty special. Watch out for the first cut Edward does on the horny ginger female as she loves it. GENIUS.
